Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Derivation, engaged in this event, on Monday 5 February 2018 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Mr Dale Chapman, kennel representative for Dazzling Liesel, declared a new weight of 28.3kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Dazzling Liesel last raced at 30.2kg.
Prior to this race the kennel temperature was 18.6 and the outside temperature was 31.8.
Super Tokachi was slow to begin.
Dazzling Liesel, Derivation and Revved Up Dee collided soon after the start. Revved Up Dee checked off Derivation soon after the start. Dyna Benny and Dazzling Liesel collided approaching the first turn. Dyna Benny, Dazzling Liesel and Derivation collided on the first turn, checking Dazzling Liesel and Xera Bale. Revved Up Dee, Super Tokachi and Dyna Benny collided on the first turn, checking Super Tokachi. Dazzling Liesel and Dyna Benny collided on the second turn. Zera Bale checked off Dyna Benny in the back straight. Derivation and Revved Up Dee collided on the third turn, checking Derivation and Dyna Benny.
Derivation was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left long head triceps (monkey) and hamstring muscles. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
