Steward's Report
This race meeting is deemed Hot Weather Affected and as such the Heat Policy is applied. At the start of kennelling the outside temperature was 23.1, the kennel temperature was 19.0.
Pursuant to GAR 104 (6) lure driver Mr C Chilcott did not act in any official capacity for this event.
Dyna Layla was quick to begin. Dyna Sarah was slow to begin.
Dyna Gertie and Dyna Layla collided soon after the start. Blackhawk Dee checked off Dyna Gertie soon after the start. First Responder, Dapper Diesel and Dyna Sarah collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Dyna Gertie and Dyna Monty collided on the first turn. Dyna Sarah checked off Dyna Adria approaching the third turn. Dyna Gertie, Dyna Layla and Dyna Monty collided on the third turn, checking Dyna Layla. Dapper Diesel galloped on Dyna Sarah in the home straight. Dyna Gertie and Dyna Monty collided repeatedly in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jake Loverso, the kennel representative for the greyhound Dyna Monty, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Dyna Monty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left gracilis (back) muscle, a ten-day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dyna Monty with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Loverso pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Monty was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
