Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Monkey Mite.
Gomez Sanchez and Destini Echo were quick to begin. Dyna Owen and Not Loitering collided soon afte the start. Cruising Stella and Calabrese Bullet collided approaching the first turn. Monkey Mite contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost considerable ground as a result. Gomez Sanchez and Destini Echo collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Gomez Sanchez and causing High Water, and Cruising Stella to fall. Monkey Mite which was following the field from earlier interference hesitated momentarily To avoid the fallen dogs. Stewards felt that this incident contribulated directly to Monkey Mite at this stage of the race. In view of this this, a charge of failing to chase was not preferred by the stewards due to the circumstances and took no further action.
Gomez Sanchez was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Monkey Mite was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Cruising Stella was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
High Water was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right quadriceps, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
