Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr P.Abela, the trainer of Rugged, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rugged last raced on 5 January, 2018. Mr Abela stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a change of kennel.
A pre race sample was taken from Iron Fist.
Badelaide Road was slow to begin. Rugged went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Classy Vanda, Refueled and Blondy Two collided soon after the start checking Refueled and Blondy Two. Blue Berty, Classy Vanda and Iron Fist collided approaching the first turn checking Classy Vanda. Classy Vanda, Blondy Two and Rugged collided on the first turn checking Classy Vanda and Blondy Two. Classy Vanda clipped the heels of Rugged approaching the home turn. Refueled and Blondy Two collided in the home straight. Blue Berty and Senor Sensation collided in the home straight. Blondy Two and Rugged collided approaching the winning post.
Iron Fist was vetted after the greyhound fell in the catching pen. It was reported that the greyhound suffered cramping, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Peter Richey, trainer of Iron Fist. Acting in accordance with GAR 71(Cramp),Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
