Steward's Report
Psychedelic Jay and Tekeela Too were slow to begin. Soda Flakes was very slow to begin. Lully Singh and Tekeela Too collided approaching the first turn checking Lully Singh. Penny Rocks checked off Tekeela Too on the third turn.
Soda Flakes was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right wrist and shoulder, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Mizzi, the representative of Soda Flakes regarding the greyhound's performance shortly after boxrise. Mr. Mizzi stated the greyhound was having it's second start and it's first start in a staying race. He further stated that the greyhound would improve with race experience as it had trialled well over a staying distance. Stewards took into consideration the greyhound's performance throughout the event and the fact that the greyhound had made up considerable ground on the field from the second turn to the finish. Stewards issued a warning to the greyhound regarding it's racing manners soon after the start and took no further action.
