Steward's Report
A trial of the GRV-endorsed ISO-LYNX real-time tracking system was conducted throughout today's racing program. All race rugs used today were fitted with a location tracking beacon as part of this trial.
Due to the prevailing hot weather conditions, the greyhounds were not required to parade but instead went straight to the boxes, for all races.
Dyna Winter was quick to begin. Eminence Keroma was slow to begin.
Winlock Patches, Nod Ya Head, Flying Rose and Inga Red collided soon after the start. Lojay Jones and Dyna Lenny collided approaching the first turn. Nod Ya Head, Flying Rose, Eminence Keroma and Inga Red collided on the first turn, checking Flying Rose. Flying Rose, Eminence Keroma and Inga Red collided entering the back straight, checking Eminence Keroma and Inga Red. Dyna Lenny marred Lojay Jones several times in the home straight.
Dyna Lenny was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained no apparent injury.
Stewards spoke to Mr Jake Collins, the kennel representative for the greyhound Dyna Lenny, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dyna Lenny with marring. Mr Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Dyna Lenny was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
