Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mrs C. Haigh, the Trainer of News Print regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. News Print last raced on 28 December 2017 and is returning after a spell.
Simply Smarter failed to pursue the lure with due commitment and eased at box rise and was very slow to begin (5 lengths). Fire Water and Fawn Fresco collided at the 300m mark. Quick Math crossed to the outside at the 250m mark, checking Gypsy Kiowa and Fawn Fresco. Quick Math faltered approaching the winning post.

Quick Math was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left back muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to J Gorgioski, the trainer of the greyhound Simply Smarter regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start. Simply Smarter was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Simply Smarter with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). J Gorgioski pleaded guilty to the charge, Simply Smarter was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
Fawn Fresco was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left pencil muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
