In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy this meeting was marked 'Hot Weather Affected'. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 28.9 degrees and the kennel temperature was 20.3 degrees. 

Reality Sail, Ima Rig and Jen's magic collided soon after the start checking Ima Rig and Jen's Magic. Speedway Chick checked off Reality Sail on the first turn. Ima Rig and Jen's Magic collided on the first turn checking Jen's Magic and Ace Cruising. Ima Rig checked off Oh Cee Dee on the first turn checking Speedway Chick. Oh Cee Dee and Ima Rig collided entering the home straight. Speedway Chick and Ace Cruising collided entering the home straight.

Lektra Diamond was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Papa Duncs and Gunna Be Hoping were quick to begin.

Panther Jane was slow to begin.

Ray Jan Eddy and Black In Town collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Gunna Be Hoping faltered approaching the first turn and tailed off as a result. Panter Lane checked off Gunna Be Hoping on the first turn. Bombastic Trixie and How Manny Bazza collided approaching the home turn checking How Manny Bazza, Ray Jan Eddy, Black In Town and Panther Lane.

Gunna Be Hoping was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.

Laugh Out Loud and Winlock Eleven were quick to begin.

Buster Norris was slow to begin.

Daisy Me Rollin' and Run Tom Run collided soon after the start checking Run Tom Run. Akut and Winlock Eleven collided on the first turn checking Buster Norris and severely checking Miss Congenial. Bro Wizard galloped on the heels of Daisy Me Rollin' approaching the home turn causing Bro Wizard to fall, checking Daisy Me Rollin' and severely checking Buster Norris. Daisy Me Rollin' galloped on the heels of Winlock Eleven in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Bro Wizaed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind paw. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

A sample was taken from Laugh Out Loud, winner of the event.

Vincent Benedict and Emgee Sprinter collided soon after the start checking Emgee Sprinter. Xander Bale and Doc Nam collided several times approaching the first turn. Arachnaphobia galloped on the heels of Vincent Benedict on the first turn checking Arachnaphobia, Vincent Benedict and Emgee Sprinter. Vincent Benedict and Emgee Sprinter collided on the home turn. 

A sample was taken from Dyna Maple, winner of the event.

Pinciotti went up with the lids at box rise. Olfina Allen was quick to begin. Chinotto and Daintree Prinz were slow to begin. Winlock Hadley checked off Moore Of Moore approaching the home turn checking Daintree Prinz and Joycee Rae. Moore Of Moore and Chinotto collided entering the home straight.

A sample was taken from Chinotto, unplaced in the event.

Stewards spoke to the Starter, Ms K McMahon (nee McGrath) in realtion to being a part owner of #6 Proven Snow.  Ms McMahon stated that arrangements had been in place for someone else to act as Sarter for the Event, but that she lost track of which Event it was.  Ms Mc Mahon became aware of the issue as the dogs were being boxed and she alerted the SIC at the first available opportunity.  Stewards issued an warning and reminded Ms McMcMahon of her obligations under GAR104.  In arriving at their decision Stewards considered the good record and reputation of Ms Mc Mahon.

Open Mind and Tempus Fugit collided approaching the first turn checking Tempus Fugit and Lilty Allen. Lulu Lollipop, Tai Chi Mini, Tempus Fugit and Tai Chi Mini collided on the first turn checking Tempus Fugit and Lilty Allen. Open Mind checked off Rido's Ace approaching the home turn.

Barb Allen and Fred's My Name collided soon after the start checking Fred's My Name. Oshkosh Jay checked off Barb Allen on the first turn. Barb Allen and Lochinvar Rox collided on the first turn checking Lochinvar Rox, Fred's My Name and All Inn Boston. Lochinvar Rox and All Inn Boston collided entering the home straight.

Nitro Nicole and Windsor Reign were slow to begin.

Tat Odin and Blonde Yappa collided approaching the first turn checking Blonde Yappa. Blonde Yappa checked off Miss Bea on the first turn checking Nitro Nicole. Miss Bea and Lodge's Express collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Van taarling, the representive of Rubba Wilson, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Rubba Wilson last raced on 25th of October 2017.  Mr Van taarling stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a right shoulder injury and being on season.

A pre-race sample was taken from Tribe.

Tribe was a late scratching at 12:15pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a tail injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Rubba Wilson and Shazza's Gift were quick to begin.

All Inn Bluebell and Shazza's Gift collided approaching the first turn checking Shazza's Gift. Rubba Wilson galloped on the heels of You Bandit on the first turn severely checking You Bandit and Daintree Lilli and causing Rubba Wilson to fall. Shazza's Gift and Elle Gazelle collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Elle Gazelle and Shazza's Gift collided on the home turn checking Shazza's Gift.

Rubba Wilson was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured humerus, and was humanely euthanased.

Bad Balony was a late scratching at 9:37am due to non arrival (GAR 31).  Stewards contacted Mr Harvey by phone and confirmed the  reason for his non arrival. Trainer Mr. T. Harvey was fined the sum of $100.

Twilight Shae and Mighty Storm were slow to begin.

Hartley Matt checked off All Revved Up approaching the first turn. All Revved Up and Twilight Shae collided on the first turn checking Twilight Shae and Mighty Storm. Mighty Storm stumbled on the home turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dragon's Den.

Mate and Bambalam Tilly were quick to begin.

Horey's Girl was slow to begin.

Mate galloped on the heels of Big Black Rocket on the first turn causing Ariki Whero and Dragon's Den to fall, severely checking Mate and checking Hannibal Spectre, William Cabang, Bambalam Tilly and Horey's Girl.

Dragon's Den was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Big Black Rocket was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right calf, right wrist and left shin soreness. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

Ariki Whero was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left hind toes. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Smashing Wild and Distributor were quick to begin.

Red Winston was slow to begin.

Smashing Wild, Blue Magnum and Distributor collided soon after the start. Booming Zulus and Twilight Fever collided soon after the start. Distributor and Exford Lumpy collided approaching the first turn checking Distributor. Blue Magnum and Twilight Fever collided on the first turn. Blue Magnum and Red Winston collided on the home turn. Twilight Fever raced wide on the home turn. All Inn Johnson and Smashing Wild collided in the home straight. Twilight Fever faltered in the home straight.

Twilight Fever was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured hock, and was humanely euthanased.
