This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected".  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 35.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 19.1 degrees.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Boots the trainer of Omastar, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Omastar last raced on 20th of October, 2017.  Mr. Boots stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a chest muscle injury.

Little Sidey was slow to begin.  Kraken Jane Babe, Scarlett Zulu, Ace Cruising and San Remo Lass collided soon after the start checking Ace Cruising.  Kraken Jane Babe, Scarlett Zulu and San Remo Lass collided on the first turn checking San Remo Lass.  Kraken Jane Babe and Scarlett Zulu collided approaching the home turn.  Omastar and Little Sidey collided on the home turn checking Little Sidey which raced wide as a result.  Kraken Jane Babe and Scarlett Zulu collided in the home straight.

Omastar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its left stopper pad.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Little Sidey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Kabo's Winlock was quick to begin.  Good Move and Omar Parker were slow to begin.  Manila Mist was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Buzz Off Sally, Omar Parker and Good Move collided on the first turn checking Good Move and severely checking Omar Parker.  Buzz Off Sally and Good Move collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Manila Mist galloped on the heels of Omar Parker on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Lektra Diamond and Krisbar Wee Wow collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Lektra Diamond and Krisbar Wee Wow collided approaching the winning post.

Good Move was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

A sample was taken from Kabo's Winlock, the winner of the event.

Alabama Lane was a late scratching at 5:30pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A ten day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. J. Donaldson was fined the sum of $100.

Mr. C. Morris-Flynn, trainer of Zippy Hazel, declared a new weight of 24.7kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Zipping Hazel last raced at 26.1kgs.

Smoke Signals was slow to begin.  All Inn Swift raced wide and eased approaching the first turn and tailed off as a result.  Rockin'Roz and Bushman's Billy collided on the first turn checking Bushman's Billy.  Golden Aura and Winlock Eleven collided on the first turn.  Smoke Signals and Bushman's Billy collided approaching the home turn.

All Inn Swift was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 6,  it was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Van Taarling, the trainer of the greyhound All Inn Swift regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged All Inn Swift with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Van Taarling pleaded guilty to the charge.  All Inn Swift was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Twilight Shae was slow to begin.  Scarlet Magic, Emgee Sprinter and Pepper Shannon collided soon after the start checking Twilight Shae.  Emgee Sprinter, Pepper Shannon and Twilight Shae collided on the first turn checking Twilight Shae and Better Way and severely checking Pepper Shannon.  Scarlet Magic and Emgee Sprinter collided on the home turn.

Scarlet Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a thoraco-lumbar injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Semantic Shift, the winner of the event.

Sonny's Tas and Red Winston collided approaching the first turn checking Sonny's Tas.  Lulu Lollipop and Doobstar collided on the first turn checking Rosette, Doobstar, Sonny's Tas and Bless 'Em All; Doobstar lost ground as a result.  World's On Fire, Lulu Lollipop and Emily Skye collided on the first turn checking Lulu Lollipop.  Bless 'Em All and Doobstar collided entering the home straight checking Doobstar which faltered and tailed off as a result.  Rosette and Lulu Lollipop collided in the home straight.

Doobstar was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left wrist.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Red Hot Fox and Marko Bale were slow to begin.  Fifty Dollar and Marko Bale collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Sol Invictus, Red Hot Fox, Tat Scooby and Solo collided on the first turn checking Solo and Sol Invictus.  Solo and Marko Bale collided on the home turn.  Twilight Liason and Troy Boyce collided entering the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Ms. P. Triaca the trainer of Fred's My Mame, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Fred's My Name last raced on 18th of September, 2017.  Ms. Triaca stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a change of kennel. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. M. Shaw the trainer of Big Black Rocket, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Big Black Rocket last raced on 4th of October, 2017.  Ms. Shaw stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left hip injury.

Groucho, Fred's My Name, Burst Through and Bagpipes Billy collided soon after the start checking Fred's My Name and Burst Through.  Bagpipes Billy, Groucho and Archi Willow collided on the first turn checking Groucho and Archi Willow.  Son Of Steve checked off Bagpipes Billy entering the home straight.  Big Black Rocket and Aruma Girl collided in the home straight checking Big Black Rocket.

Klondike Gold was slow to begin.  Blonde Yappa, Markinch Maid and Some Spark collided soon after the start checking Markinch Maid.  Markinch Maid checked off Blonde Yappa approaching the first turn checking Blonde Yappa.  Klondike Gold galloped on the heels of Gidgee's Boss on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dark Chance and Klondike Gold collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Dark Chance and Blonde Yappa collided approaching the home turn severely checking Dark Chance.  Gidgee's Boss and Markinch Maid collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Are You Ready and Chinotto were slow to begin.  Paid Too Much and Cozi Fitz collided soon after the start checking Cozi Fitz.  Cozi Fitz, Oshkosh Gypsy and Hardy's Banjo collided approaching the first turn checking Oshkosh Gypsy.  Shazza's Gift and Paid Too Much collided on the first turn checking Paid Too Much, Hardy's Banjo and Are You Ready.  Hardy's Banjo galloped on the heels of Paid Too Much approaching the home turn checking Paid Too Much, Hardy's Banjo and Are You Ready.  Paid Too Much checked off Oshkosh Gypsy on the home turn.  Shazza's Gift and Tribe collided entering the home straight.

Are You Ready was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left back muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Kraken Titch was quick to begin.  Krisbar Blue Fox was slow to begin.  Naomi Allen, Apropos and Kraken Titch collided approaching the first turn checking Apropos and Naomi Allen.  Cawbourne Lambo, Fruit Frames and Pizza Shop collided on the first turn checking Pizza Shop, Krisbar Blue Fox, Fruit Frames and Naomi Allen.  Krisbar Blue Fox galloped on the heels of Apropos on the home turn checking Apropos, Krisbar Blue Fox and Fruit Frames.  Krisbar Blue Fox and Fruit Frames collided entering the home straight.  Kraken Titch and Cawbourne Lambo collided entering the home straight.

Smashing Wild was slow to begin.  Maximum Jarvis and Cash Or Card collided on the first turn checking Cash Or Card.  Cash Or Card and Miss Twerker collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Miss Twerker was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Following the event, Cash Or Card collapsed in the catching pen.  As a result the greyhound was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhounds displayed clinical signs of Ataxia / Hypermetria.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. C. Tyley, the trainer of Cash Or Card and advised her that the greyhound would be closly monitored in future events.

Prior to this event the outside temperature was 25.0 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.3 degrees.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Eyles the trainer of Kraken Tobias, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kraken Tobias last raced on 31st of October, 2017.  Mr. Eyles stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hock tendon injury.  Mr. Eyles also declared a new weight of 29.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Kraken Tobias last raced at 30.4kgs.

Mr. F. Meyer, trainer of Just Run Left, declared a new weight of 32.4kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Just Run Left last raced at 31.1kgs.

Dragon's Den was quick to begin.  Fiery Universe and Just Run Left were slow to begin.  Kraken Tobias was very slow to begin (5 lengths).  Mate and Scoop Jackson collided approaching the first turn.  Call Me Deita and Just Run Left collided on the first turn.  Mate and Scoop Jackson collided on the home turn.'

Kraken Tobias was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a thoraco-lumbar injury and bilateral pannus.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Eyles, the trainer of the greyhound Kraken Tobias.  Stewards deemed the performance of Kraken Tobias unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Kraken Tobias must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accpeted.
