Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms M. Nolan, the trainer of Hightan, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Hightan last raced on 22 September 2017. Ms Nolan stated that the greyhound was resuming from a right hind leg injury.
Ima Ruby was quick to begin. Mia Brae, Blue Vegas, Mepunga Bella and Osakalaka collided soon after the start, checking Blue Vegas and Mepunga Bella. Osakalaka checked off Wharfies Girl approaching the first turn. Mepunga Bella and Blue Vegas collided on the first turn. Ima Ruby and Hightan collided entering the home straight.
Osakalaka was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn left front nail, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
