This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected".  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 35.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.

Lilly An' Page, Magic Jagger and Modern Jagger were slow to begin. Lilly An' Page and Magic Jagger collided soon after the start. Lilly An' Page and Clear The Bar collided on the first turn. Rainmaker Elle and High Water collided on the first turn, checking Rainmaker Elle. Modern Jagger galloped on the heels of Rainmaker Elle on the first turn, checking Rainmaker Elle. Rainmaker Elle and Magic Jagger collied approaching the home turn. Clear The Bar and Magic Jagger collided in the home straight. Rainmaker Elle marred Magic Jagger approaching the winning post. 

Rainmaker Elle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left chest muscle and left monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

A sample was taken from Magic Vogue - the winner of the event. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. R Brook, the trainer of the greyhound Rainmaker Elle regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rainmaker Elle with marring. Mr. Brook pleaded guilty to the charge, Rainmaker Elle was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
