This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected".  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 35.5 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.

Rainmaker Elle was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left chest muscle and left monkey muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R Brook, the trainer of the greyhound Rainmaker Elle regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rainmaker Elle with marring. Mr. Brook pleaded guilty to the charge, Rainmaker Elle was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ballet Creek was slow to begin. Dyna Winkler galloped on the heels of Talanjee Chief soon after the start, checking Talanjee Chief and Where's Jamal. Dyna Winkler, Oh So Rowdy and Bomber Creek collided on the first turn, checking Oh So Rowdy and Bomber Creek. Oh So Rowdy and Where's Jamal collided approaching the home turn, checking Ballet Creek. Thomeli Rocket and Dyna Alia were quick to begin. Cosmic Creek and Bluey Moran collided soon after the start. Bluey Moran, Tao Tao and Dyna Carl collided on the first turn, checking Tao Tao. Ocean Bay checked off Chasing James on the first turn. Cudgee's Milo checked off Ocean Bay approaching the home turn. Chasing James raced wide in the home straight. 

African Rhino was a late scratching at 6:56pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr R.Drew was fined the sum of $100.

Chevsta, Manzeene Man, Clouded Acorn and Prince Cheviot collided soon after the start. Manzeene Man, Clouded Acorn and Prince Cheviot collided on the first turn. Clouded Acorn checked off Chevsta approaching the home turn. 

Chatty Garry, Crump's Legend and Bobby Tokaam were slow to begin. Bobby Tokaam checked off Cee Righty soon after the start. Spring Baker checked off White Bandit approaching the first turn. White Bandit checked off Calabasas on the first turn. Crump's Legend and Bobby Tokaam collided heavily in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mr G. George trainer of Intensify regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Mr George last raced on 12 October, 2017. Mr George stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after an extended spell.

Zed Merrett was slow to begin. Zed Merrett, Kadabra Monelli and Zipping Nicole collided on the first turn, checking Kadabra Monelli. Xtreme Carnage checked off Zuma Creek on the home turn, and collided with Intensify. Lektra Guiseppe and Intensify collided heavily in the home straight.

Luca Rocket was slow to begin. Mepunga Nyssa, Lektra Menzel and Boona Lad collided soon after the start. Seeking Stars, Lektra Menzel and Boona Lad collided on the first turn, checking Lektra Menzel, and severely checking Boona Lad. 

Stewards spoke to Mr H.Wilkinson trainer of Bloke's Advice regarding the length of time the greyhound had between races. Bloke's Advice last raced on 8 October 2017. Mr Wilkinson stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a change of kennel. 

Ms V.Cotton, the handler of Big Boy Buzz declared a new weight of 39.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Big Boy Buzz last raced at 40.9kg.

Eminence was slow to begin. Proven Mystery and Mepunga Reign collided soon after the start. Big Boy Buzz and Terry Towelling collided approaching the first turn, checking Big Boy Buzz. Terry Towelling and Inga Tom collided on the first turn. Big Boy Buzz galloped on the heels of Inga Tom on the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Crymelon Kit was very slow to begin (7 Lengths). Hi Ho Orazio and Seabrook Noisey were slow to begin. Inga Ted, Ledgerwood Molly and Hi Ho Orazio collided approaching the first turn, checking Ledgerwood Molly. Inga Ted and Hi Ho Orazio collided on the first turn. Hi Ho Orazio faltered approaching the home turn, collided with Seabrook Noisey and collided heavily with Crymelon Kit, severely checking Crymelon Kit. 

Hi Ho Orazio was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right tibia, right fibula, right hock and left front toe nail, a 90 day stand down period was imposed. 

Ms A.Farley, the trainer of Lemon Chicken declared a new weight of 30.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Lemon Chicken last raced at 31.6kg.
