Stewards spoke to  Mr Bevan Gray, the trainer of Miss Skye High, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Skye High last raced on18th September 2017. Mr Gray stated that Miss Skye High was returning to race after an extended spell.

Ms Brooke Berry, trainer of Lil' Tuff Chapta, declared a new weight of 25.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Lil' Tuff Chapta last raced at 24.1kg.

Lil' Tuff Chapta was quick to begin.

Stewards spoke to trainer Ms Brooke Berry in regards to Lil' Tuff Chapta's improved performance in this event.  Ms Berry advised Stewards that the greyhound had had an extended spell after suffering a split-webbing and fractures to both fibulas. Lil' Tuff Chapta has not raced since October, 2017.  Ms Berry also stated that she believed the greyhound had matured. Stewards noted Ms Berry's explanation and directed that a post race sample be taken.

Hardaway Kate was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the sacro-iliac and the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr S Kruckel, trainer of Blue Fortitude, regarding the greyhound's performance in this event. Mr Kruckel stated to Stewards that Blue Fortitude had began well today and was able to lead comfortably without receiving any interference. Mr Kruckel also stated that Blue Fortitude had received interference in his recent starts and was confident that with a clear run today, Blue Fortitude would be very competitive. Stewards noted Mr Kruckels explanation and directed that a post-race sample be taken from the greyhound.
