Steward's Report
Jebreco Surprise, Vane Power and Loaded were slow to begin. Hannah Bear and Emilia Magic collided on the first turn checking Emilia Magic. Vane Power checked off Hannah Bear on the first turn. Brindle Ninja faltered approaching the home turn.
Brindle Ninja was vetted and after being re vetted following event 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a neck injury and soreness in the left and right hip muscles, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to the trainer Mrs. M. Musselwhite, regarding the greyhound's racing action approaching the home turn, taking into account the injuries sustained by the greyhound in the event, stewards took no further action.
MEETING COMMENTS:
Track Report - Track Curator, Mr. G. Roberts advised stewards that the track was lightly harrowed on Wednesday, 10th January 2018.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan, the representative of Lakeview Grace regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lakeview Grace last raced on 30th June, 2017. Mr. Whelan stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after Pursuant to GAR 77A, Lakeview Grace trialled over the 440m from box 8, weight 30.0kgs, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.82, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.5 lengths. Lakeview Grace was Cleared.
