Steward's Report
Real Obsession was a late scratching at 5:23pm on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to illness (elevated temp). A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. D. Johnston, the trainer of Velocity Whisper regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Velocity Whisper last raced on 13th August, 2017. Mrs Johnston stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
Mr. I. Anderson, trainer of Where's Marcia declared a new weight of 25.9kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Where's Marcia last raced at 27.8kgs.
Rosie Glenda and Velocity Whisper were quick to begin. Undercover Viv was slow to begin. Where's Marcia checked off Velocity Whisper approaching the first turn. Undercover Viv contacted the running rail approaching the first turn checking Undercover Viv. Detroit Wally and Where's Marcia collided on the first turn checking Detroit Wally. Velocity Whisper and One Way Ticket collided on the home turn.
Undercover Viv was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion and bruising to the left hind and a spike wound to the left hind foot, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
