This meeting was deemed "hot weather affected".  At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 29.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees.

Xerox Letter was quick to begin.  All Inn Baz, Winlock Hadley, Quavo and Ring London collided on the first turn, checking Winlock Hadley, Quavo and Ring London.  All Inn Baz and Myrniong Marvel collided approaching the home turn, checking Myrniong Marvel.  Myrniong Marvel and Quavo collided on the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Quavo and Winlock Hadley collided entering the home straight.

Kouta Excuses and Heat Up collided soon after the start, checking Heat Up.  Kouta Excuses and Tooralee collided approaching the first turn, checking Tooalee.  So Fine and Sienna's Gem collided on the first turn, checking Sienna's Gem.  Kouta Excuses and Brienne collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.  Heat Up tailed off (68 lengths) in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr Brayden Klemke, the handler of the greyhound Heat Up, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Heat Up was vetted and or re-vetted following event seven.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg iliospoas injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Heat Up with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Heat Up was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Let's Run, Hypnotic Trance and Senor Asher collided soon after the start, checking Hypnotic Trance and Senor Asher.  Let's Run, Senor Asher, Miss Barbados, You Dance and Stylish Billy collided on the first turn, checking Senor Asher, You Dance and Miss Barbados; severely checking Stylish Billy, which subsequently checked Dead Eye Dickson.  Miss Barbados checked off You Dance approaching the home turn.

My Name's Red was vetted and after being re-vetted following event eight, it was reported that the greyhound sustained right hindleg hock and thoraco-lumbar injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stylish Chief was quick to begin.  Adala Prince was slow to begin.  Micro Moo and Chillby collided approaching the first turn, checking Chillby.  Miss Bea, Chillby and Adala Prince collided on the first turn, checking Chillby and Adala Prince.  Cass' Cass and Sol Invictus collided on the first turn, checking Sol Invictus, Miss Bea and Chillby.

Stewards spoke to Mr David Keanelly, the trainer of Mahjong Rule, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Mahjong Rule last raced on 30 August 2017.  Mr Keanelly stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a spell.

Miss Vane was quick to begin.  Shooter's Odysey, Rockin' In and Racketeer were slow to begin.  Ivanka, Lektra Blicavs and Mahjong Rule collided on the first turn, checking Lektra Blicavs, Mahjong Rule and Shooter's Odysey.  Racketeer raced wide on the home turn.  Shooter's Odysey checked off Rockin' In entering the home straight.

Mahjong Rule was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left foreleg stopper injury, a three day stand down period was imposed.

Tzar Norma was slow to begin.  Magic Buddie contacted the running rail approaching the first turn.  Sunday Sipper, Cosmic Spur, Assemble Nitro and Humble Gun collided approaching the first turn, checking Assemble Nitro and Cosmic Spur.  Sunday Sipper and Humble Gun collided on the first turn.  Tzar Norma and Cosmic Spur collided on the first turn, checking Cosmic Spur.  Lunar Shadow and Humble Gun collided approaching the home turn.  Cosmic Spur lost ground approaching the home turn.

Magic Buddie was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
