Steward's Report
Kouta Excuses and Heat Up collided soon after the start, checking Heat Up. Kouta Excuses and Tooralee collided approaching the first turn, checking Tooalee. So Fine and Sienna's Gem collided on the first turn, checking Sienna's Gem. Kouta Excuses and Brienne collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Heat Up tailed off (68 lengths) in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr Brayden Klemke, the handler of the greyhound Heat Up, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Heat Up was vetted and or re-vetted following event seven. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg iliospoas injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Heat Up with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Klemke pleaded guilty to the charge, Heat Up was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
