An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Quartz Vein, engaged in this event, on Tuesday 10 October, pursuant to GAR 79A.
Gold Vein was quick to begin. Happy Tails was slow to begin.
Burning House, Happy Tails and So Funny collided soon after the start. Dundee Ally and Burning House collided soon after the start and on the first turn. So Funny checked off the heels of Allen Lottery on the first turn. Gold Vein and Allen Lottery collided on the first turn. Dundee Ally checked off the heels of Burning House on the first turn; Dundee Ally stumbled and lost ground as a result. Gold Vein, Quartz Vein and Allen Lottery collided on the second turn, checking Allen Lottery. Gold Vein and So Funny collided heavily on the second turn; Gold Vein fell as a result. Happy Tails checked off the heels of Allen Lottery on the third turn. Happy Tails checked off the heels of So Funny on the fourth turn.
Gold Vein was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left deltoid injury. A five-day stand down period was imposed.
