A pre-race sample was taken from Loch Eddie.
Deadwood Kate and Janali collided soon after the start. Shady Buck, Jake Sully, Janali and Cash Money collided on the first turn, checking Janali. Deadwood Kate clipped the heels of Boomer Blitz approaching the second turn. Loch Eddie and Jake Sully collided in the back straight, checking Jake Sully. Loch Eddie and Rippin' Sam collided on the third turn. Loch Eddie clipped the heels of Rippin' Sam approaching the home turn. Shady Buck eased entering the home straight and collided with Loch Eddie. Shady Buck and Loch Eddie collided several times in the home straight.
At the completion of this race the lure apron of the catching pen gate was blown open in the wind, Loch Eddie escaped and ran a short distance before being captured in the back straight. Loch Eddie was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. D. Chapman, the trainer of Shady Buck regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn and entering the home straight. Mr. Chapman stated that the greyhound likes to run wide and that he believed the greyhound on the outside (Loch Eddie) was crossing in to the rail. Stewards considered Mr Chapmans explanation and issued a warning.
