Pingu was slow to begin.
Dontron checked off the heels of Rapana approaching the first turn, checking Clovalley Dave and Pingu. Rapana and Amlin's Magic collided approaching the home turn. Dontron and Pingu collided on the home turn. Amlin's Magic and Pingu collided several times on the home turns and in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to trainer's representative K. Kelly regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Rapana. Stewards directed that Rapana be boxed first in future events.
