Steward's Report
Cosmic Don was a late scratching at 1.15pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to a right hamstring injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre-race sample was taken from Just Add Colour.
Optima Semper was quick to begin. Kreuzenstein and Whitney Showgirl were slow to begin. Amaroo Bazinga, Proven Eddie and Just Add Colour collided approaching the first turn, checking Proven Eddie and Just Add Colour; Just Add Colour raced wide as a result. Kreuzenstein checked off Titanium Boy on the first turn. Just Add Colour raced wide on the second turn and lost ground. Amaroo Bazinga and Proven Eddie collided on the third turn, checking Amaroo Bazinga. Titanium Boy checked off Just Add Colour on the third turn, checking Kreuzenstein and Whitney Showgirl. Kreuzenstein galloped on the heels of Amaroo Bazinga entering the home straight, checking both greyhunds.
Whitney Showgirl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left foreleg, no stand down period was imposed.
Just Add Colour was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Ms. A. Langton the trainer of Just Add Colour regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the second turn.
