Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Tub's Tiger.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Watson, the trainer of the greyhound Angry Alley regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Angry Alley last raced on 26th July, 2017. Mr. Watson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after being on season.
Zambora Jagger and Daisy Patch collided soon after the start checking Zambora Jagger. Tub's Tiger, Rack Tap Rack and Dava Supreme collided approaching the first turn checking Rack Tap Rack. Tub's Tiger, Dava Supreme and Porscha's Girl collided on the first turn checking Tub's Tiger and Dava Supreme. Rack Tap Rack and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn severely checking Rack Tap Rack. Zambora Jagger and Daisy Patch collided on the first turn checking Zambora Jagger. Tub's Tiger, Dava Supreme and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn checking Tub's Tiger and Daisy Patch, severely checking Dava Supreme. Zambora Jagger galloped on Dava Supreme as a result and stumbled; Dava Supreme subsequently fell. Porscha's Girl eased approaching the home turn.
Dava Supreme was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left triceps and pencil muscle injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed
Stewards spoke to Mrs C. Cortese, the representative of the greyhound Porscha's Girl regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Porscha's Girl was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions on both hind legs. No stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Porscha's Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mrs. Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge, Porscha's Girl was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
