Steward's Report
Trainer Mr Thomas Boehmke was interviewed following his untimely kennelling practices today when Eftpos Jess was presented to the kennels several minutes after the official kennelling closing time. Mr Boehmke's two other greyhounds were kennelled before and on the appointed kennelling time closure. Mr Boehmke acknowledged an offence under GAR 31 and a $50 fine was imposed.
Mr David Turnley was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Take The Rapid pursuant to GAR 33.
Take The Rapid and Handsome Jake were quick to begin.
Go Maysie Go checked off Nareen on the first turn. Ultra Sharky raced wide in the back straight. Take The Rapid and Ultra Sharky collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds; Take The Rapid lost ground as a result. Handsome Jake checked off Nareen approaching the winning post.
Take The Rapid tired over the concluding stages and was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left quadriceps muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.
