Trainer Mr Thomas Boehmke was interviewed following his untimely kennelling practices today when Eftpos Jess was presented to the kennels several minutes after the official kennelling closing time. Mr Boehmke's two other greyhounds were kennelled before and on the appointed kennelling time closure. Mr Boehmke acknowledged an offence under GAR 31 and a $50 fine was imposed.

Mr David Turnley was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Take The Rapid pursuant to GAR 33.

Take The Rapid and Handsome Jake were quick to begin.

Stewards spoke to Ms Deb Carr, the trainer of Terry Towelling regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Terry Towelling last raced on 10th July 2017. Ms Carr stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a change of kennels.

Krazy Jane and Mr. Candyman collided heavily on the first turn, causing Krazy Jane to fall and severely checking Mr. Candyman. Ottis Bale hesitated on the first turn. Platinum Osti and Miss Premier raced tightly and collided in the home straight.

Ottis Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had no apparent injury. After speaking with Trainer Mr M Neile and in assessing this incident in totality, it was apparent to Stewards that Ottis Bale hesitated simultaneously to the incident behind. The Stewards felt that this incident contributed directly to the actions of Ottis Bale at this stage of the race. In view of this, a charge of failing to chase was not preferred by Stewards and Ottis Bale was placed on a Satisfactory Trial, pursuant to GAR 71.

Cosmic Tool was vetted following the race. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right humorous and was humanely euthanised.

Hayley Jane was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a carpal sprain of the right wrist and an injury to the left long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A 14-day stand down period was imposed.

Krazy Jane  was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps (monkey) muscle. A ten-day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards inspected the track immediately after the incidents and falls that occurred through the first turn and deemed the surface safe and suitable for racing.

Stewards spoke to Mr Stanley Berriman, the trainer of Dynamite Jackson regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dynamite Jackson last raced on 23rd July 2017. Mr Berriman stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.
