Golden Romance was slow to begin.  Goldie's Nugget crossed to the rail soon after the start and collided with Adam Mandam checking Goldie's Nugget.  Groovy Sweet was checked off Round Nose approaching the first turn.  Golden Romance crossed to the rail approaching the first turn.  Goldenpaw Lad and Round Nose collided on the first turn.  Goldenpaw Lad and Liberty Sage collided approaching the home turn.  Maggie Mikado raced wide in the home straight.

Following the event Stewards declared to hold all tickets as they had concerns with the positioning of the lure on the first turn.  Acting on their own observations and after reviewing the race replay Stewards were satisfied that the variance in distance between the lure and the leading greyhound had no bearing on the result and announced all clear.

Stewards spoke to lure driver Mr. S. Courts regarding his driving of the lure in this event.  Mr. Courts believed that the lure was slipping, the lure system was inspected and no faults were found.  Stewards referred the incident to the appropriate manager.

A pre-race sample was taken from Big Huey.

Baudelaire was quick to begin.  Buckle Up Leo, Flashing Oaks and No More were slow to begin.  Baudelaire and All You Got collided approaching the first turn checking Yo Adrian.  Big Huey, Yo Adrian, Buckle Up Leo and No More collided on the first turn checking Big Huey and Buckle Up Leo and severely checking Yo Adrian and No More.  Big Huey and All You Got collided approaching the home turn checking Buckle Up Leo which collided with Flashing Oaks severely checking Buckle Up Leo as a result.  Yo Adrian faltered on the home turn.  Flashing Oaks was checked off All You Got in the home straight. 

Yo Adrian was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Galea the trainer of Love To Dream regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Love To Dream last raced on 27/07/17.  Mr. Galea stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injured left shoulder and hip support.  Mr. Galea declared a new weight of 30.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Love To Dream last raced at 28.3kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Buy Me Diamonds.

Love To Dream and Majik Mikado were quick to begin.  Brian's Last and Goldenpaw Buzz collided soon after the start causing Brian's Last to become unbalanced.  Silver Dollar and Buy Me Diamonds collided soon after the start.  Goldenpaw Buzz was checked off Brian's Last approaching the first turn.  Weeona Raph was checked off Brian's Last on the first turn, Weeona Raph stumbled as a result.  Brian's Last was checked off Buy Me Diamonds on the first turn.  Weeona Raph and Buy Me Diamonds collided approaching the home turn severely checking Buy Me Diamonds.  Buy Me Diamonds and Goldenpaw Buzz collided on the home turn checking Buy Me Diamonds and severely checking Goldenpaw Buzz.

Buy Me Diamonds was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising above the left hock, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Brian's Last was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Love To Dream - winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Langenhoff the representative for Cosmic Magic regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cosmic Magic last raced on 27/07/17.  Mr. Langenhoff stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hock injury.

Jay Bee Ell and Whiney Whine were quick to begin.  Cosmic Magic was slow to begin.  Challis Sprite and Spinning Light collided soon after the start.  Jay Bee Ell and Whiney Whine collided approaching the first turn checking Whiney Whine and Spinning Light and severely checking Cash Or Card, Weeona Annie and Voodoo Hustler.  Spinning Light was checked off Whiney Whine approaching the home turn checking Weeona Annie.  Cash Or Card and Weeona Annie collided approaching the home turn.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 1 minute due to a Newcastle Harness race running late.

Solo was checked off Over Indulgence approaching the home turn.  Secret Business clipped the heels of Solo entering the home straight.

Spokane Flick was slow to begin.  Mood Swings was checked off Big Skeeta soon after the start.  Major Think and Spokane Flick collided approaching the first turn checking Major Think which lost ground.  Major Think eased on the first turn and failed to pursue the lure.  Big Skeeta was checked off Spokane Flick on the first turn.  Temujin and Spokane Flick collided approaching the home turn.  Saving Lots veered out and marred Sooky Jooky on the home turn.  Saving Lots and Sooky Jooky collided entering the home straight.  Saving Lots failed to pursue the lure in the home straight and collided with Sooky Jooky.  Big Skeeta raced wide approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Greenough the representative of the greyhound Saving Lots regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Saving Lots with marring.  Mrs. Greenough pleaded guilty to the charge, Saving Lots was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months all tracks and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Major Think was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. M. Schmidt the owner of the greyhound Major Think regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Major Think with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mrs. Schmidt pleaded not guilty to the charge, Major Think was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Little Tacka.

Little Tacka and Johnnie Red were slow to begin.  Weeona Paul and Zinda Neveelk collided soon after the start checking Zinda Neveelk which collided with Little Tacka.  Chloe In Paris eased on the first turn and failed to pursue the lure.  Invictus Lawless was checked off Johnnie Red approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Whyte the trainer of Chloe In Paris regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Chloe In Paris was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) the Stewards charged Chloe In Paris with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Whyte pleaded not guilty to the charge, Chloe In Paris was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Trainer Mr. S. Whyte presented a veterinary certificate and advised Stewards on Tuesday 14 November 2017 that Dr. Des Fegan had checked Chloe In Paris yesterday and reported a bruised central tarsal bone in the right hock with lameness. Dr. Fegan stated that Chloe In Paris will be unable to race for 21 days.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Campbell the trainer of Shafira regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Shafira last raced on 22/06/17.  Mr. Campbell stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a left fibula injury.  Mr Campbell declared a new weight of 28.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Shafira last raced at 27.6kg.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Lure Driver Mr. S. Courts did not act in any capacity for this event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Joanie's Johnny.

Shafira was quick to begin.  Rapanui Surprise was slow to begin.  Buzz The Tower and Belron Bliss collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Buzz The Tower clipped the heels of Galloping Micky entering the home straight.

Maximum Stress was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right wrist, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Nash Road Betty - winner of the event.

Midnight Muscat was a late scratching at 5.15pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Lure Driver Mr. S. Courts did not act in any capacity for this event.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Arlecchino, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Be Bob, Manila Bala and Arlecchino were quick to begin.  Italian Plastic and Arlecchino collided soon after the start.  Yogi Mikado, Go Saints and Italian Plastic collided approaching the first turn checking Go Saints and Yogi Mikado.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cunningham the trainer of She's Perfect regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  She's Perfect last raced on 28/07/17.  Mr. Cunningham stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right back muscle injury.

She's Perfect was slow to begin.  Agent Waddle and Wendy Can't Run collided soon after the start.  Iona Misty crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Voluptuous Ruby and Aston Abbott.  Agent Waddle and Iona Misty collided approaching the first turn checking Agent Waddle and severely checking She's Perfect.  Agent Waddle was checked off Iona Misty on the first turn checking Pancake.  She's Perfect and Wendy Can't Run collided approaching the home turn checking She's Perfect.  Agent Waddle was checked off Iona Misty on the home turn.  Pancake and Aston Abbott collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 4 minutes after handler Mr. R. Partington was unable to box his greyhound Belron Brum.  Subsequently all greyhounds were removed from the boxes and re-vetted prior to the start of the event.  All greyhounds were passed fit to race.  

Aged Badly, Tarree's Ruslie and Weeona Dino collided soon after the start checking Weeona Dino.  Weeona Dino galloped on Belron Brum approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Zara's Pride and Belron Brum collided approaching the home turn.  Creative Cruise was checked off Maderra in the home straight.  Aged Badly and Creative Cruise collided in the home straight.  Weeona Dino and Belron Brum collided approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Partington the trainer regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Belron Brum.  Stewards directed that Belron Brum be boxed first in future events.

Stewards advised Mr. Partington if he had further issues boxing the greyhound he will be required to engage another handler pursuant to GAR 45.
