Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Rocky Gee Rocks.
Rockalot and Scorching Fella were quick to begin. Dyna Aviator and Alberto were slow to begin. Navajo Bear and Destini Laredo collided soon after the start. Dyna Aviator and Rocky Gee Rocks collided soon after the start. Destini Laredo and Row Tay Tom collided soon after the start. Scorching Fella and Navajo Bear collided on the first turn. Row Tay Tom checked off the heels of Dyna Aviator on the first turn. Dyna Aviator checked off the heels of Scorching Fella approaching the second turn. Rockalot, Scorching Fella, Dyna Aviator and Alberto collided heavily on the third turn. Dyna Aviator galloped on the heels of Rockalot on the third turn, causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose considerable ground. Scorching Fella checked off the heels of Alberto approaching the home turn.
Rockalot was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Dyna Aviator was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right wrist, a five day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms. Jan Brooks regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Row Tay Tom, which is already a box first greyhound. Stewards directed that Ms. Brooks must appoint another suitable qualified handler to box this greyhound at future starts.
