Stewards Advice:  During kennelling it was apparent that the air-conditioning system in the kennel block was not functioning as required. Industrial fans and other ventilation measures were put in place, which maintained the kennel temperature at around 24 degrees until a fix of the system could be effected.  At around 3.15pm, the problem was solved and the temperature was maintained at around 20 degrees thereafter. 

Charity Charm, Reign Of Buddy and Barcali were slow to begin. Han Solo and Nicky Neo collided approaching the first turn. Liberty Tron and Shadow Kissed collided on the first turn, checking Shadow Kissed, Kreuzberg and Barcali. Reign Of Buddy and Shadow Kissed collided approaching the second turn, checking Shadow Kissed and Barcali. Liberty Tron and Reign Of Buddy collided approaching the third turn. Shadow Kissed and Barcali collided approaching the home turn, severely checking both greyhounds. Shadow Kissed contacted the running rail as a result. 

Shadow Kissed was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left monkey muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed. 

Majik Mikado was a late scratching at 1.07PM due to non-arrival (Rule 31) as a result of a vehicle breakdown on the way to Sandown. Mr Dalton has been requested to provide documenty evidence to authenticate the mechanical and validate the subsequent late scratching. 

Mepunga Neo and Menzali were slow to begin. Ninety Proof and Ima Rockstar crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Ninety Proof, Ima Rockstar and Blackjack Neo, and severely checking Mepunga Pride and Miss Terindah. Ninety Proof and Ima Rockstar collided on the second turn. Ima Rockstar checked off Weeona Raph on the second turn. Menzali checked off Weeona Raph on the home turn.

Go Seek Heidi, Rollin' With It and Degani were slow to begin. Why Not Lola was very slow to begin (8 lengths) and jumped awkwardly. Degani and Alta Linea collided soon after the start. Go Seek Heidi and Rollin' With It collided approaching the first turn. Why Not Ginger and Taking Aim collided on the first turn. Go Seek Heidi and Rollin' With It collided on the first turn, checking Go Seek Heidi. Why Not Ginger checked off You Rippa Pippa on the second turn, checking Taking Aim. Rollin' With It and Why Not Ginger collided on the third turn, checking both greyhounds. Rollin' With It checked off Degani on the home turn.

Water Colour, Dr. Mino and Go Seek Fernando were quick to begin. Cloverlay and My Redeemer were slow to begin. My Redeemer and Dutch Legacy collided soon after the start. Water Colour, Deja Vu Rock and Payton collided soon after the start. Deja Vu Rock checked off Water Colour soon after the start. My Redeemer and Dutch Legacy collided approaching the first turn. Payton and Cloverlay collided several times on the first turn. Cloverlay galloped on the heels of Payton on the second turn. Cloverlay and My Redeemer collided on the second turn. My Redeemer galloped on the heels of Water Colour on the third turn. Dutch Legacy checked off My Redeemer on the third turn. My Redeemer and Dutch Legacy collided on the ome turn. Cloverlay tired in the home straight.

Cloverlay was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild soreness to the left hip and a five day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Glen Rounds advised that Cloverlay will now head to the provincial circuit, over the shorter distances as this trip is on her limit at this stage of her career.

A pre-race sample was taken from Blackpool Chuck. 

Prince Scarlet, Blackpool Chuck and Shep collided soon after the start. Blackpool Chuck crossed to the rail on the first turn, checking Prince Scarlet. Allen Yani and Monster Fish collided on the first turn and again approaching the second turn, checking Monster Fish. Unbackable contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Shep and Monster Fish collided several times approaching the home turn, checking Shep and Unbackable. 

Unbackable was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 1.5 minutes to hold for a New Zealand trot event. 

Brandeen Plugger was slow to begin. Inequity and Irish Moment collided approaching the first turn. Runnin' On Fire checked off Inequity approaching the first turn. Tiny Dreamer and Sublime News collided on the first turn. Tiny Dreamer and Brandeen Plugger collided on the first turn, severely checking both greyhounds. 

The start of this race was delayed by approximately 2.5 minutes to hold for an Ascot Park NZ event. 

Mumma's Meatloaf and Bellario collided soon after the start. Rido's Ace and Destini Mermaid collided soon after the start. Lucky Love, Tough Love and Lucky Tetris collided on the first turn, checking Lucky Tetris and Tough Love. Tough Love galloped on the heels of Lucky Tetris on the third turn. Rido's Ace checked off Destini Mermaid on the home turn.

Rockalot and Scorching Fella were quick to begin. Dyna Aviator and Alberto were slow to begin. Navajo Bear and Destini Laredo collided soon after the start. Dyna Aviator and Rocky Gee Rocks collided soon after the start. Destini Laredo and Row Tay Tom collided soon after the start. Scorching Fella and Navajo Bear collided on the first turn. Row Tay Tom checked off the heels of Dyna Aviator on the first turn. Dyna Aviator checked off the heels of Scorching Fella approaching the second turn. Rockalot, Scorching Fella, Dyna Aviator and Alberto collided heavily on the third turn. Dyna Aviator galloped on the heels of Rockalot on the third turn, causing both greyhounds to stumble and lose considerable ground. Scorching Fella checked off the heels of Alberto approaching the home turn.

Dyna Aviator was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right wrist, a five day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Ms. Jan Brooks regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Row Tay Tom, which is already a box first greyhound. Stewards directed that Ms. Brooks must appoint another suitable qualified handler to box this greyhound at future starts. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Palmer, the trainer of Heart To Hearts regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Heart To Hearts last raced on 29 June, 2017. Mr. Palmer stated that the greyhound is returning to racing following a change of kennels. 

King Colt and Heart To Hearts were quick to begin. About Time was slow to begin. King Colt and Heart To Hearts collided on the first turn. Agent Waddle checked off King Colt and collided heavily with Elevated on the first turn. Elevated and Geopark Ruby collided and raced wide on the first turn. About Time veered out and marred Geopark Ruby approaching the second turn, Elevated and Geopark Ruby were inconvenienced as a result. Geopark Ruby and About Time collided several times and raced wide on the second turn. Geopark Ruby and About Time collided several times on the third turn. Geopark Ruby was inconvenienced by About Time throughout the race. 

Geopark Ruby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to the left fore stopper pad, a seven day stand down period was imposed. 

About Time was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Galea, the trainer of the greyhound About Time regarding the greyhounds racing manners appraoching the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged About Time with marring. Mr. Galea pleaded guilty to the charge, About Time was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. P. Leondaris, trainer of Brousko declared a new weight of 36.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Brousko last raced at 34.7kg. 

You Blonde, Tears I'm Not and Renew were slow to begin. You Blonde and Tears I'm Not collided soon after the start. Temujin crossed to the outside and collided with Renew on the first turn. You Blonde checked off the heels of Renew on the first turn, inconveniencing Vis Vitae. Renew and Brousko collided on the second turn. Brousko tired approaching the home turn. Vis Vitae checked off Fred Dagg in the home straight. 

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Temujin, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Brousko was vetted following the event. Mr. Leondaris failed to have Brousko vetted. As such under GAR 20 (v), the Stewards ordered that prior to any further nominations being accepted for this greyhound, a veterinary certificate must be produced to our satisfaction, stating that at the time of examination Brousko is fit to start. 

You Blonde was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left wrist, a ten day stand down period was imposed. 

Wadelock Sampson was quick to begin. He Shall Johnny, Galloping Fantom and Main One collided on the first turn, checking He Shall Johnny and Main One, severely checking Galloping Fantom. 

He Shall Fred was slow to begin. Magenta Gold, American Hustle and Rainbow Ruby collided soon after the start. Small Rose and He Shall Fred collided on the first turn. Noaki Colour checked off Rainbow Ruby on the first turn, checking American Hustle. Rainbow Ruby clipped the heels of Crazy Jo Jo in the back straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results: Major Think trialled over the 515m from box 1, weight 32.0kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 30.13, the greyhound was beaten a margin of a neck. Major Think was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results: Kadalex Kid trialled over the 515m from box 8, weight 31.9kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 30.13, the greyhound won by a margin of a neck. Kadalex Kid was cleared.
