Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Blitzen Bell.
Ninetymile Toby was slow to begin.
Cavalry Rose crossed to the rails approaching the first turn, checking Bush Hero, All Inn Layla, Miss Legality and Who's My Daddy. Miss Legality, Bush Hero and Who's My Daddy collided on the first turn. All Inn Layla cramped entering the home straight and pulled up as a result. Who's My Daddy and Ninetymile Toby raced wide in the home straight. Miss Legality crossed to the rail in the home straight. Blitzen Bell crossed to the outside in the home straight.
All Inn Layla was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a cramp of the left hind leg. and soreness to both shoulders and left sesamoid .A 14-day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Joshua Formosa, the representative the greyhound All Inn Layla. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
MEETING COMMENTS
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms A.Courts, the representative of Wicked Pedro, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Wicked Pedro last raced on 18 March 2017. Ms A.Courts stated that the greyhound had sustained a right metacarpal injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Wicked Pedro trialled over the 400m from box one, weight 35.3kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.87, the greyhound won by a margin of 2.75L. Wicked Pedro was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results - Far Welsh trialled over the 400m from box three, weight 29.4kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.87, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.5L. Far Welsh was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr S Collyer, the trainer of Gunmetal Diva, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Gunmetal Diva last raced on 20 February 2017. Mr Collyer stated that Gunmetal Diva was returning to race after an unsuccessful attempt at breeding and a subsequent change of kennels. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Gunmetal Diva trialled over the 400m from box five, weight 27.6kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of four. The time of the trial was 22.87, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 12.5L. Gunmetal Diva was cleared.
