Little Jebrynah was quick to begin. Rapanui Rebel was slow to begin. Bugs Boloney, Creative Cruise and Boycey Road collided soon after the start checking Creative Cruise. Bugs Boloney, Boycey Road and Rapanui Rebel collided approaching the first turn. Creative Cruise and Boycey Road collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Creative Cruise and Boycey Road raced wide in the home straight.
