A pre-race sample was taken from Midnight Mystery upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Mepunga Pride and Majik Mikado were quick to begin. Majik Mikado, Payton and Miss Terindah collided soon after the start, checking Payton and Mepunga Pride. Midnight Mystery and Weeona Garf collided soon after the start, checking Midnight Mystery. Kiomara and Dr. Noely collided approaching the first turn, checking Kiomara and Midnight Mystery. Mepunga Pride, Majik Mikado and Miss Terindah collided on the first turn, checking Majik Mikado and Miss Terindah. Weeona Garf checked off Payton approaching the second turn. Midnight Mystery and Weeona Garf collided on the second turn, checking Midnight Mystery and severely checking Weeona Garf which stumbled and lost ground. Kiomara and Dr. Noely collided on the second turn. Midnight Mystery, Kiomara and Dr. Noely collided approaching the third turn, checking Midnight Mystery.
