Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Shevchenko.
Shevchenko was quick to begin. Miss Holland and Omega Bonner were slow to begin. Miss Holland and Omega Bonner collided approaching the first turn. Artistic Alyssa checked off Omega Bonner on the first turn. Lonesome Katie and Omega Bonner collided approaching the home turn checking Lonesome Katie. Joe's Dolly, Merinda Hannah and Shevchenko collided approaching the winning post. Shevchenko eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. George, the trainer of the greyhound Shevchenko regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Shevchenko was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the left and right back muscles, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) stewards charged Shevchenko with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. George pleaded guilty to the charge. Shevchenko was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
