Pacific Power and Fat Rhino were slow to begin. Maximum Gift and Mac's Intention collided on the first turn. Kate's Intention and About Time collided on the first turn. About Time and Maximum Gift collided approaching the second turn. Just Add Colour and Mac's Intention collided on the second turn. Mac's Intention and Fat Rhino collided on the third turn checking Fat Rhino. About Time and Maximum Gift collided approaching the winning post.
Fat Rhino was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles and both groin muscles. A stand down period of 10 days was imposed.
