Steward's Report
An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Zipping Jake engaged in this event on 16th October 2017, pursuant to GAR 79A.
A pre-race sample was taken from Pacific Beach.
Baron's breeze and Prince Rohnomy were slow to begin.
Nimble Lucy, Little Dynamo, Panda rebel and Woodleigh Sal collided soon after the start. Little Dynamo, Panda Rebel and Woodleigh Sal collided on the first turn severely checking all three greyhounds. Zipping Jake eased approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr T. Howell, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Jake regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Zipping Jake was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left wrist, a 3 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Zipping Jake with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Howell pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Jake was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
