This race jumped approximately 3 minutes late following delays during the kennelling process. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Flywheel Strike.

Zipping Moore was slow to begin.  Apila Cabbage, Zipping Moore, Scrumble and Our Echo Rose collided soon after the start checking Apila Cabbage, Zipping Moore and Scrumble.  Siver Lightning and Flywheel Strike collided approaching the first turn checking Siver Lightning.  Our Echo Rose was checked off Tarika Tara on the first turn.  Siver Lightning was checked off Our Echo Rose approaching the home turn checking Apila Cabbage.  Flywheel Strike and Stitch Gun Miss collided on the home turn checking Stitch Gun Miss and Tarika Tara.  Flywheel Strike and Tarika Tara collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from Flywheel Strike - second placegetter in the event.

Sprint Tee was quick to begin.  Ed's Intention was slow to begin.  Akina Blitz was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Sharp Diamond and Back Slapper collided on the first turn checking Back Slapper.  Back Slapper and Ed's Intention collided entering the front straight.  Dr. Eleonora and Back Slapper collided approaching the fourth turn checking both greyhounds.  Blue Alcatraz and Sprint Tee collided in the home straight.

Back Slapper was vetted by request of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound to the right hind foot, no stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Sharp Diamond - winner of the event.

Come To Play was a late scratching at 6:26pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas). No stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Seaton Star was quick to begin.  Early Special and Our Charlie Rose were slow to begin.  Seaton Star and Zipping Megan collided on the first turn checking Zipping Megan.  Our Charlie Rose galloped on  Zipping Megan in the back straight.  Apila Moola and Seaton Star collided on the second turn checking Seaton Star.  Our Charlie Rose and Zipping Megan collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Zipping Megan was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Stewards spoke to Ms. D Coleman, the trainer of Zipping Megan after the greyhound performed below market expectation. Ms. Coleman stated that she had expected a forward showing, however the interference recieved during the race had contributed to the greyhounds performance. Stewards noted the explanation and also took into consideration that Zipping Megan was having her first start at the track. 

Stewards spoke to Mrs. K Gorman, the trainer of Miss Gracie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Miss Gracie last raced 21 March 2017 and is returning to racing following a change of kennel.  Mrs. Gorman declared a new weight of 26.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Miss Gracie last raced at 27.8kg.

Miss Gracie and Tambo Flash were quick to begin.  Megellas Fairy and Tiger Rance collided soon after the start.  Tambo Flash and Phil's In Luck collided on the first turn checking Early Spring, Dargo Dasher and Tambo Flash and severely checking Megellas Fairy and Tiger Rance, Megellas Fairy fell as a result.

Megellas Fairy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no injury apparent.

Barroom Counsel was a late scratching at 5:49pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to an injured right moneky muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Woodleigh Blue was quick to begin.  Mumma's Meatloaf and Jane's Intention were slow to begin.  Flash Intention was very slow to begin (4 lengths).  Woodleigh Blue and Federal Agent collided approaching the second turn.  Jane's Intention was checked off Woodleigh Blue on the second turn checking Jane's Intention and Federal Agent.  Jane's Intention and Federal Agent collided on the third turn checking Jane's Intention.  Woodleigh Blue was checked off Mumma's Meatloaf in the home straight.  Jane's Intention was checked off Mumma's Meatloaf approaching the winning post.

Empire Entourage, Small Rose and Rack Tap Rack were slow to begin.  Small Rose and Rack Tap Rack collided approaching the first turn.  Far Out Indian was checked off Apollo's Twin approaching the second turn.  Far Out Indian raced wide in the back straight.  Lakeview Harley was checked off Cosmic Tilly on the third turn.  Rack Tap Rack was checked off Apollo's Twin approaching the home turn checking Rack Tap Rack and Buzz Rash.  Far Out Indian and Buzz Rash collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.

Empire Entourage was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the right side of the face.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Aston Grace and Akina Dee Jay collided soon after the start.  Dr. Toretto and Dewana Express collided soon after the start.  Cracking Joe, Aston Grace, Akina Dee Jay, Dr. Toretto and Dewana Express collided approaching the first turn checking Aston Grace and Dr. Toretto.  Cracking Joe, Akina Dee Jay and Dewana Express collided approaching the first turn checking Akina Dee Jay and Dewana Express.  Cracking Joe and Select Opal collided on the first turn checking Select Opal.  Cracking Joe and Shanlyn George collided on the second turn checking both greyhounds.  Akina Dee Jay was checked off Dewana Express on the second turn checking Akina Dee Jay and Dr. Toretto.  Shanlyn George was checked off Cracking Joe on the third turn.  Cracking Joe and Akina Dee Jay collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Select Opal galloped on Fuelish in the home straight.

Johnny Bullet was quick to begin.  Johnny Bullet crossed in soon after the start and In Dee Genes crossed out soon after the start checking In Dee Genes, Zippy Lynet, Hi Ho Geronimo, Miss Dee Meadows, Jenna Bale and Johnny Bullet and severely checking Opalia Bale.  Zippy Lynet was checked off In Dee Genes approaching the second turn checking Johnny Bullet.  Johnny Bullet was checked off In Dee Genes in the back straight checking Johnny Bullet, Opalia Bale and Miss Dee Meadows.  In Dee Genes, Opalia Bale, Miss Dee Meadows and Johnny Bullet collided in the home straight checking Opalia Bale and Johnny Bullet and severely checking In Dee Genes and Miss Dee Meadows, In Dee Genes stumbled as a result and lost considerable ground.

In Dee Genes was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained and injured right back muscle, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Zipping Nicole and Blue Not Black were slow to begin.  Our Bravo Rose and Simply Mystic collided in the back straight checking Our Bravo Rose.  Zipping Nicole was checked off Simply Mystic on the second turn.

Usain Gilbert, Riverside Mons and Machiko were quick to begin.  Sunset Believer was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Two Toes Tony and Machiko collided on the first turn checking Machiko.  Two Toes Tony and Bossino collided entering the home straight.

Kokomo Beach was quick to begin.  Meehan Deano was slow to begin.  Vanilla Kiss and Cookie Rose collided soon after the start.  Lunar Shadow, Elswyk Max, Ya Welcome and Lakeview Miss collided on the first turn checking Elswyk Max, Ya Welcome and Lakeview Miss.  Elswyk Max and Lakeview Miss collided on the second turn checking Elswyk Max.  Ya Welcome was checked off Lunar Shadow on the second turn.  Meehan Deano raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
