Bliss Street and Ying Yang were slow to begin.

Go Go Pipsqueak and Our Rocket collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Ying Yang and Flying Vulcan crossed to the outside at the 300m mark. Bliss Street was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right gracilis (back) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards issued a warning to Mr Gerry Orr, the trainer of Bliss Street, regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr Grant Hammerstein, trainer of Solar On, and reminded him of his responsibilities to obey the directions of the starter.

Rumbling Bajooks was quick to begin.

Heard A Rumour, Baron's Breeze and Gotta Little Big collided soon after the start, checking all three greyhounds. Heard A Rumour crossed to the outside at the 250m mark.

Longshot Glory and Was A Banker were slow to begin.

Remembering Dad and Tiny Octane collided at the 250m mark. Longshot Glory checked off Remembering Dad approaching the 200m mark. Remembering Dad and Longshot Glory collided approaching the 150m mark, checking Longshot Glory. A pre-race sample was unable to be collected from Vane Blue; a post-race sample was subsequently taken. Vane Blue was unplaced in the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr Robert Plunkett, the trainer of Master Phelps, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Master Phelps last raced on 10th of March 2017. Mr Plunkett stated that the greyhound was returning after a change of kennels.

My Wrecker and Puzzle And Me were slow to begin.

Puzzle And Me and Tricky Trey collided soon after the start. Master Phelps and Oscar collided approaching the 250m mark. Puzzle And Me and Stroke Of Genius collided approaching the 200m mark and again at the 200m mark.

A pre-race sample was taken from Like A Fancy.

The start time for this event was delayed by approximately five minutes to allow for Like A Fancy to be revetted at the boxes. The greyhound was subsequently passed fit to race and the event was broadcast on SKY2 as a result.
