Stewards spoke to Mr Wayne Gray, the trainer of Why Not Trish, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Why Not Trish last raced on 29 August 2017. Mr Gray stated that the greyhound had sustained a right metacarpal injury and had been seasonal. Mr Gray also declared a new weight of 32.6kg for Why Not Trish in accordance with GAR 39(2). Why Not Trish last raced at 31.3kg.
Scot's Dunker and Beyond Today were quick to begin. Why Not Trish was slow to begin.
Sublime Sull, Arrow Allen and Captain Pete collided soon after the start, checking Sublime Sull. Beyond Today and Hearing De Novo collided soon after the start. Why Not Trish checked off the heels of Ripsaw Ronny on the first turn. Why Not Trish, Beyond Today and Hearing De Novo collided on the first turn. Arrow Allen and Captain Pete collided on the first turn.
