Premier Ching was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right tensor fascia (triangle) muscle. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr Warren Alley, the trainer of Spritely Boy, regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Spritely Boy last raced on 8 January 2017. Mr Alley stated that that the greyhound had been recovering from split webbing and a wrist injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Spritely Boy trialled over the 400m from box two, weight 31.8kg, the greyhound was placed fourth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.91, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2.5L. Spritely Boy was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Gold Gem trialled over the 400m from box three, weight 25.7kg, the greyhound was placed fifth in a field of five. The time of the trial was 22.91, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.75L. Gold Gem was not cleared.

Lochinvar Kors last raced on 3 May 2017. Mr Kenyon stated that the greyhound had been recovering from a toe injury.
