Ellie's Blue was slow to begin.
Blue Fortitude, Riverdale Danger and Buzz The Tower collided soon after the start. Kiowa Kaema and Emma's Sparrow collided soon after the start. Buzz The Tower and Kiowa Kaema collided approaching the first turn. Goldenpaw Lad and Ellie's Blue collided approaching the first turn. Jimbo Jet shifted out through the first turn. Blue Fortitude and Riverdale Danger collided on the first turn. Goldenpaw Lad shifted out on the first turn. Buzz The Tower, Goldenpaw Lad and Ellie's Blue collided heavily on the first turn causing Goldenpaw Lad to stumble and lose considerable ground.
Goldenpaw Lad tailed off in the home straight and was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left elbow. A seven-day stand down period was imposed.
