Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Ms. L. Randall the trainer of Vindication regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Vindication last raced on 06/06/17. Ms. Randall stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following relocation from interstate.
A pre-race sample was taken from Vindication.
Dr. Flannigan and Dr. Toretto were slow to begin. Beyond Manapa and Sir Fancy collided soon after the start checking Beyond Manapa. Le Doyen and Vindication collided on the first turn. Dr. Flannigan and Pristina Lad collided in the back straight checking both greyhounds. Dr. Flannigan and Beyond Manapa collided on the second turn. Dr. Toretto and Vindication collided entering the home straight checking Vindication. Sir Fancy tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Sir Fancy was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparant.
Stewards spoke to the trainer of Sir Fancy Mr. J. Petersen who was pleased with the greyhound's performance as he had not raced for two months. Stewards accepted Mr. Petersen's explanation and took no further action.
