Steward's Report
Don One and Poppy's Way were quick to begin. Where's Lachie was slow to begin. Conjurer was checked off Lottie Glenda soon after the start. Conjurer, Zoenah's Legacy and Poppy's Way collided approaching the first turn checking Conjurer and Zoenah's Legacy. Zoenah's Legacy and Poppy's Way collided approaching the first turn checking Zoenah's Legacy. Zoenah's Legacy and Poppy's Way collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds, Where's Lachie raced wide as a result. Don One and Spotted Label collided approaching the second turn checking Spotted Label. Where's Lachie was checked off Conjurer in the back straight. Poppy's Way was checked off Zoenah's Legacy on the third turn. Poppy's Way eased in the home straight. Poppy's Way marred Zoenah's Legacy approaching the winning post.
Poppy's Way was vetted following the event and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Stewards spoke to Mr. W. Majoor the trainer of the greyhound Poppy's Way regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) Stewards charged Poppy's Way with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Majoor pleaded guilty to the charge, Poppy's Way was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and it was directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pusuant to GAR 69(A) (2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
