An Out of Competition Sample was taken from Henderson engaged in this event on 14th November, 2017 pursuant to GAR 79A.
Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Lloyd, the handler of Xava Allen regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Xava Allen last raced on 10th August, 2017. Mr. Lloyd stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a sprung toe.
Elite Ollie, Dorrigo Bale and Melissa Lee collided soon after the start, checking Dorrigo Bale and Melissa Lee. Henderson galloped on the heels of Xava Allen approaching the first turn, checking Henderson, Xava Allen and Dorrigo Bale. Henderson and Sugar Roselee collided on the first turn. Melissa Lee and Henderson raced wide approaching the winning post.
A sample was taken from Double Talkin' - the winner of the event.
Henderson was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising to the right fore limb. No stand down period was imposed.
