A pre-race sample was taken from Row Tay Tom.
Maderra was slow to begin.
Lord Somersby, Master Al, Row Tay Tom, Pristina Lad and Destructo Rat collided soon after the start, Lord Somersby lost considerable ground as result. Row Tay Tom and Destructo Rat collided approaching the first turn checking Row Tay Tom. Row Tay Tom raced wide in the home straight.
Lord Somersby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left wrist injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs J. Brooks regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Row Tay Tom. Stewards directed that Row Tay Tom be boxed first in future events.
