Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Edwards trainer of Spooked Out in relation to the performance of the greyhound approaching the winning post. Mr. Edwards was of the opinion that the greyhound failed to run the distance out. Stewards noted Mr Edwards explanation and took no further action. 

Ray's Wish was quick to begin. Winter's Glow and Little Nova collided soon after the start. Shi The One and Winter's Glow collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn. Sweet Angel and Little Nova collided on the first turn. Little Nova and Dazzling Melody collided on the first turn. Ray's Wish eased on the first turn. Hagrid Grange and Greysynd Ebony collided on the home turn. Sweet Angel and Little Nova collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Baker, the trainer of the greyhound Ray's Wish regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.  Ray's Wish was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right triangle and displayed mild thumps, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Ray's Wish with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Baker pleaded guilty to the charge,ray's Wish was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a),  before any future nomination will be accepted.

The start of this event was delayed by approximately 3 minutes due to Stewards inspecting the track prior to this event due to heavy rain and requested the tractor complete an extra circuit of the track.

Olfina Allen was quick to begin. Tomdor, Wishes Fulfilled, El Grand Knocka and Just Banji were slow to begin. Wishes Fulfilled and El Grand Knocka collided soon after the start checking Wishes Fulfilled. Satisfactory Trial Results - Onya Teddy trialled over the 425mts from box 6, weight 34.8kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 24.26, the greyhound won by a margin of 3L. Onya Teddy was cleared. Mr. M. Meyer trainer of Onya Teddy declared a new weight of 34.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Onya Teddy last raced at 33.6kg.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Newman, the trainer of Violet Blue regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Violet Blue last raced on 8th February 2017. Mr. Newman stated that the greyhound was returning from a rib cage injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Violet Blue trialled over the 425mts from box 8, weight 34.1kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 24.26, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3L. Violet Blue was cleared.
