Steward's Report
Aston Grace, Dewana Express, Select Opal and Small Rose were slow to begin. Fuelish, Cosmic Tilly, Aston Grace, Dewana Express, Select Opal and Small Rose collided soon after the start checking Fuelish, Cosmic Tilly, Small Rose, Aston Grace and Select Opal. Lakeview Harley crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Dewana Express. Cosmic Tilly and Aston Grace collided on the first turn checking Cosmic Tilly. Select Opal and Small Rose collided on the first turn checking Select Opal. Lakeview Harley checked off Dewana Express approaching the home turn. Fuelish and Lakeview Harley collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.
Fuelish was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left monkey muscle injury and bruising to the left elbow, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
A sample was taken from Empire Entourage - the winner of the event.
Stewards spoke to Ms. V. Humphries, the handler of the greyhound Select Opal regarding her delay in boxing the greyhound. Stewards accepted Ms. Humphries explanation and took no further action.
