Steward's Report
Modern Value was a late scratching at 1:41pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre race sample was taken from Crooked Vulture.
Marinara Girl was quick to begin. Zipping Tina and Tarsier collided soon after the start. Tarsier and Ends Well collided on the first turn checking Zipping Tina and Simbarea. Supa Shalala checked off Marinara Girl on the first turn. Zipping Tina, Simbarea and Tarsier collided in the back straight. Crooked Vulture checked off Supa Shalala in the back straight. Simbarea and Tarsier collided on the second turn checking Tarsier. Marinara Girl and Supa Shalala raced wide on the home turn. Marinara Girl and Supa Shalala collided entering the home straight. Supa Shalala eased in the home straight.
Supa Shalala was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound was found to have soreness in the right shoulder and right whip muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Kelly, the trainer of the greyhound Supa Shalala regarding the greyhound's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Supa Shalala with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Kelly pleaded not guilty to the charge, Supa Shalala was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it ws directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.
