Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr Brayden Klemke, the handler of Peter Yap, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Peter Yap last raced on 3 April 2017. Mr Klemke stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a spell and right monkey muscle injury.
Allen Quintus, Lodge's Express, Will Dazzle and My Name's David were slow to begin. Allen Quintus, Magic Shianne and Injector collided approaching the first turn, checking Injector which collided with My Name's David. Lodge's Express and Will Dazzle collided approaching the first turn, checking Will Dazzle. Allen Quintus, Peter Yap and My Name's David collided on the first turn, checking Peter Yap and My Name's David. Injector and Will Dazzle collided approaching the home turn, checking Will Dazzle. Magic Shianne marred the running of Riverdale Sugar entering the home straight. Injector and Will Dazzle collided in the home straight.
Magic Shianne was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained left foreleg wrist, left and right foreleg monkey injuries, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs Julie Chilcott, the representative of the greyhound Magic Shianne, regarding the greyhounds racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(1) Stewards charged Magic Shianne with marring. Mrs Chilcott pleaded guilty to the charge, Magic Shianne was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
