Dr. Annie, Diamond Ruby and Jaygee Sprinter collided on the second turn, checking Jaygee Sprinter and Diamond Ruby. Diamond Ruby was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left saddle muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed. 

Diamond Ruby escaped the catching pen at the conclusion of this race when a wind gust pushed open the lure apron enough for the greyhound to push through. Diamond Ruby ran only a short distance before being secured near the 715m starting boxes. A precautionary veterinary examination was undertaken. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Graham, the trainer of Evil Pedro regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Evil Pedro last raced on 2nd March 2017. Mr. Graham stated that the greyhound was resuming to racing following an extended spell. Mr. Graham, trainer of Evil Pedro declared a new weight of 36.8kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Evil Pedro last raced at 38.1kgs.

Dr. Noely was slow to begin. Dr. Jezabel and Jobes Return collided soon after the start, checking Jobes Return. Blue Berty and Xtreme Move collided on the first turn, checking Evil Pedro and Dr. Noely and severely checking Blue Berty which fell. Evil Pedro and Dr. Noely collided approaching the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Evil Pedro and Blue Berty collided on the third turn, checking Evil Pedro. Blue Berty and Evil Pedro raced wide in the home straight.

Blue Berty was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both deltoid muscles, a seven day stand down period was imposed. 

Evil Pedro was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left saddle muscle, a five day stand down period was imposed. 

Akina Blitz was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Kayley's Comet, Gaza's Rooster and Bont's Magic collided approaching the first turn and on the first turn, checking Gaza's Rooster. Destini Fortress and Akina Blitz collided on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Kayley's Comet checked off Destini Fortress approaching the third turn. Destini Fortress, Gaza's Rooster and Bont's Magic collided on the fourth turn, checking Destini Fortress and Bont's Magic.

Hollywood Nights was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the right deltoid muscle and left pencil muscle, a seven day stand down period was imposed.

Sutre Sizzler and Canya Ayden were slow to begin. Canya Ayden checked off Quick Finance soon after the start. Sutre Sizzler and Quick Finance collided on the first turn. Macrory was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn toenail to the left fore foot, a five day stand down period was imposed. 

Never Satisfied was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

New Level and Unite Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking New Level. Lance Lomar and Onya Sami collided on the first turn, checking Onya Sami and Onya Grover. Zed Merrett was slow to begin. Pink Floyd checked off Elusive Linda approaching the first turn. Iris Allen checked off Cindeen Jates on the first turn, severely checking Iris Allen and Pink Floyd, Pink Floyd fell as a result. Elusive Linda checked off Carry On Pendles on the second turn. Zed Merrett and Cindeen Jates collided entering the home straight, checking Cindeen Jates and Carry On Pendles. 

A sample was taken from Permafrost - the winner of the event. 

Pink Floyd was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the spine, right monkey muscle and both saddle muscles, a ten day stand down period was imposed.

My Girl Belena was slow to begin. Gold Odessa checked off Dyna Greg soon after the start. My Girl Belena and Akina Dee Jay collided approaching the first turn. Akina Dee Jay and Ima Ebay collided approaching the second turn, checking Ima Ebay and Chrissy Pee.

Retro Flyer was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. D. Bate, the handler of Retro Flyer regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. 

An inquiry was opened by Stewards into an incident that evolved in the trainer's car park, prior to kennelling today. Trainer Mr. P. Tanti made submissions to the Stewards in relation to the preparation of Maestro Destini for racing and also his possession of a single unpackaged tablet. A car-park sample was taken at that time and a pre-race sample was also taken, just prior racing, from Maestro Destini. The tablet was confiscated for analytical purposes with the inquiry being adjourned to a later date, pending receipt of the results of these three samples.
