A pre race sample was taken from Mint Boy.
Minto Boy and Tiggerlong Scar were slow to begin. Peta Sketa galloped on the heels of Lady Alliance on the first turn, checking Peta Sketa. Tekki Lightning and Lady Alliance collided approaching the home turn, checking Tekki Lightning. Peta Sketa and Tiggerlong Scar collided entering the home straight.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to U Bickerton, the trainer of Pacific Secret regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Pacific Secret last raced on 24 November 2016. U Bickerton stated that the greyhound was returning from a right hock injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Pacific Secret trialled over the 311m from box 8, weight 28.7kgs, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 17.95, the greyhound won by a margin of 2 lengths. Pacific Secret was cleared.
