Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr C.Dyett, the trainer of Barellen Genie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Barellen Genie last raced on 21 February, 2017. Mr Dyett stated that the greyhound is resuming racing after a elbow injury.
Mr A.Marum, trainer of Proven Ryker declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Ryker last raced at 30.5kg.
Proven Ryker, Another Banji, Run Tom Run and Toby's Taxi were slow to begin. Eden Lass checked off Itsa Secret on the first turn. Barellen Genie and Toby's Taxi collided approaching the home turn. Barellen Genie, Toby's Taxi and Run Tom Run collided on the home turn. Barellen Genie, Toby's Taxi and Another Banji collided entering the home straight checking Another Banji. Proven Ryker crossed sharply towards the outside rail entering the home straight.
Barellen Genie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles, both pencil muscles and both triangles. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.
