Pop's A Wizard and Izzy Kymtony were slow to begin. Starbright Madie and Secret Business collided soon after the start checking Starbright Madie. Izzy Kymtony checked off Pop's A Wizard approaching the first turn. Pop's A Wizard and Secret Business collided several times approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Starbright Madie eased approaching the home turn and collided with Secret Business. Starbright Madie raced wide and collided with Secret Business several times to the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Both greyhounds finished tailed off. Way Things Are and Shazza's Gift collided in the home straight.

Starbright Maddie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild muscle soreness in the left triangle. A stand down period of 3 days was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Hammerstein, the trainer of the greyhound Starbright Madie regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Starbright Madie with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Hammerstein pleaded guilty to the charge, Starbright Madie was found guilty and suspended the greyhound for 3 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Secret Business was vetted following the event and the report was "no apparent injury".

Cool Al and Little Sidey were slow to begin. Move It, Quick Dollars and Vee Power collided approaching the first turn checking Quick Dollars and Vee Power. Vee Power and Little Sidey collided on the home turn. Quick Dollars checked off Move It on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr C.Dyett, the trainer of Barellen Genie regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Barellen Genie last raced on 21 February, 2017. Mr Dyett stated that the greyhound is resuming racing after a elbow injury. 

Mr A.Marum, trainer of Proven Ryker declared a new weight of 29.1kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Proven Ryker last raced at 30.5kg. 

Proven Ryker, Another Banji, Run Tom Run and Toby's Taxi were slow to begin. Eden Lass checked off Itsa Secret on the first turn. Barellen Genie and Toby's Taxi collided approaching the home turn. Barellen Genie, Toby's Taxi and Run Tom Run collided on the home turn. Barellen Genie, Toby's Taxi and Another Banji collided entering the home straight checking Another Banji. Proven Ryker crossed sharply towards the outside rail entering the home straight.

Barellen Genie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles, both pencil muscles and both triangles. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.

Parie Shiraz was very slow to begin (4L). Proud Phoenix, Cosmic George and Knightrider collided on the first turn checking Cosmic George. Cosmic Tool raced wide in the home straight. Larrikan Bozzie and Knightrider collided approaching the winning post.

Mon Dasha was very slow to begin (4L). Divino, My Name's Polly and Meatball collided approaching the first turn checking Divino and My Name's Polly. Divino, My Name's Polly, Victo Bale and Rockstar Barnes collided on the first turn checking Victo Bale and Rockstar Barnes. Mon Dasha and Divino collided in the back straight. Zelemar Jim, Divino and Mon Dasha collided approaching the second turn checking Mon Dasha. Mon Dasha and Victo Bale collided on the second turn. Zelemar Jim clipped the heels of Raglan Bindi approaching the winning post.

Mon Dasha was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle, both deltoid muscles, left triangle and left hip. A stand down period of 14 days was imposed.  Stewards also spoke to Trainer Mr  K Stephens.

Destini Baby and Face To Face collided on the first turn checking Face To Face. Cozzi and Destini Baby collided in the back straight checking Destini Baby. Face To Face raced wide in the home straight.

Cosmic Coaster was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound had bitten it's tongue in the catching pen. No stand down was imposed.

Swift Bunny was very slow to begin (4L). Fred's My Name and Danny Brook collided on the first turn checking Danny Brook.Crymelon Fettle and Maximum Maddy collided on the first turn checking Crymelon Fettle. Crymelon Fettle and Hotlips Matilda collided approaching the second turn. Pyramid Flyer, Maximum Maddy and Hotlips Matilda collided approaching the home turn checking Maximum Maddy. Crymelon Fettle and Hotlips Matilda collided on the home turn and entering the home straight. Crymelon Fettle and Hotlips Matilda raced wide in the home straight.

Daintree Dynamo and Alpha Nyx collided soon after the start. Emi's Boy Badger, Daintree Dynamo and Nitro Power collided approaching the first turn, checking Nitro Power. Archi Willow and Tempus Fugit collided on the first turn. Alpha Nyx and Take That Banksy collided on the home turn, checking Take That Banksy. Alpha Nyx checked off Nitro Power on the home turn.

Clover Lad and Miracle Cherry were slow to begin. Clover Lad and Mr. Agro collided approaching the first turn. Kostya Nuffen, Clover Lad and Winey Bago collided on the first turn checking Winey Bago. Winey Bago galloped on the heels of Clover Lad on the first turn checking Clover Lad and King's Fury. Clover Lad and Spa Squirtle collided approaching the hoe turn checking Clover Lad. Mr. Agro and Winey Bago collided in the home straight.

Hillbilly Hell and Spa Primrose collided soon after the start checking Spa Primrose. Dashing Dream and Boston Light collided approaching the first turn. Hillbilly Hell and Johnny Dunbar collided on the first turn checking Johnny Dunbar. Dashing Dream, Boston Light and Khaleesi Miss collided on the first turn checking Khleesi Miss and Dashing Dream. Johnny Dunbar and Boston Light collided entering the home straight and again entering the home straight. Sisco Mama raced wide entering the home straight and again in the home straight. Spa Primrose raced wide in the home straight.

Jen Shen and Lireva were slow to begin. Lireva and Thera Cee approaching and on the home turn. Lireva and Bundy Princess collided several times in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

A sample was taken from Armadale Lass, winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Burkett in relation to his failure to present the greyhound Kraken Zuri at today's meeting.  Stewards charged Mr. Burkett with a breach of rule GAR 86(o) (negligence). Mr. Burkett pleaded guilty.  Taking into account all circumstances, Mr Burkett was found guilty and fined the sum of $200.

Iroquois Souljah and Nero Joe collided soon after the start and approaching the first turn. Silver Rockstart and Tranquil Will collided approaching the first turn checking Tranquil Will. Nero Joe, Iroquois Souljah, Silver Rockstar and Sisco Gillie collided on the first turn severely checking Silver Rockstar which collided with Tranquil Will and checking Tranquil Will. Iroquois Souljah and Sisco Gillie collided approaching the home turn.

Silver Rockstar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and left tricep. A stand down period of 21 days was imposed.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr K.Ashton, the trainer of Dream Edition regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Dream Edition last raced on 15 December, 2016. Mr Ashton stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after a illness. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Dream Edition trialled over the 425m from box 6, weight 34.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 5 starters. The time of the trial was 24.50, the greyhound won by a margin of 1.75L. Dream Edition was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Blue Odessa trialled over the 450mt from box 1, weight 28.7kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 24.50, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2L. Blue Odessa was cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Commander trialled over the 450mt from box 3, weight 31.0kg, the greyhound was placed 5th in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 24.50, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3L. Commander was not cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Blue Berty trialled over the 450mt from box 5, weight 25.5kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 5. The time of the trial was 24.50, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8L. Blue Berty was cleared.
